Shalom

I am back walking, running, jogging the warm beaches of the med. My own personal "club med" Tel Aviv style. OK, so I'm here working but what's not to love seeing some new sights, history of 3 religions, a culture big on technology and innovation, and of course trying that wonderful med. cuisine (is that why everyone here is thin compared to my country?)
-eggplant w/Tahini, pine nuts- wow, this is wonderful
http://www.boston.com/ae/food/articles/2007/01/03/roasted_eggplant_with_tahini/
-a delicious bread with spicy salsa that I guess is a national dish (from Yemenites?)
"Jacknu amd malouach" thick and oily (olive)+ wonderful spicy tomato paste/salsa
Now that I have worked off some jet lag, time to rest and peace.
A simple thought, can the med. countries swear off war and build on peace?
Think of how many world citizens will love to visit here, work here and share its natural beauty and world history near the warm sea.

Danish Energy Independence- read Tom Friedman's latest

Flush With Energy
By THOMAS L. FRIEDMAN
Published: August 9, 2008
"Because it was smart taxes and incentives that spurred Danish energy companies to innovate, Ditlev Engel, the president of Vestas — Denmark’s and the world’s biggest wind turbine company — told me that he simply can’t understand how the U.S. Congress could have just failed to extend the production tax credits for wind development in America"

Navy Goats

An old Navy Goat likes climbing-
for the view, for fellowship, for fitness.
Thanks to the BSA I recently enjoyed a week with some great kids
including 2 of my own: swimming, biking, climbing in the mountains.

Beg for Mercy, pushing it to the limit

OMG I just finished a "Beg for Mercy Chicken Burger" at St John's pub in Santa Clara.
That was some fiery meal!!! When I get hiccups and a runny nose and burning tongue I know I pushed the limit.

Uncle Tom didn't make it. Something about not receiving my text messages anymore since Verizon raised their rates for text.
Speaking of pushing it to the limit, please checkout my Triathlon pics- go Ian!!!!
We all had a great time in Sunriver. I hope you like my blog. I am just trying to keep up with sexy euro Tina.
